Located in Raglan, Waikato, the Flax Cove project shows how a clear master plan can maximize a challenging, sloped coastal site. For the Love of Landscape developed a practical concept layout that establishes distinct functional zones, opening up the property for seamless outdoor living and entertaining.

The design balances the modern, dark-stained house architecture with a texturally rich, hardy plant palette. Layered native species, structural flaxes, and lush groundcovers ground the building into its hillside context, creating low-maintenance privacy screens and deep garden beds that thrive in the coastal microclimate.

The resulting landscape is a highly functional, relaxed family environment featuring a wide timber entertaining deck, a sheltered gravel fire pit zone, and easy-care lawns linked by structured stepping-stone pathways.
