Registered Landscape Architect | Virginia (Ginny) Watt
Backed by 20 years of architectural design experience across New Zealand and overseas, helping shape beautiful, practical outdoor spaces in the Waikato.
For the Love of Landscape was founded in 2011 by Virginia (Ginny) Watt, a Registered Landscape Architect with over 20 years of experience creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces.
Ginny designs gardens and landscapes that reflect both the client’s personal style and the unique character of the site—spaces where people truly love to spend time. Her approach blends creativity, structural practicality, and environmental sustainability.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Lincoln University in 2003, Ginny has built a diverse and international portfolio:
-
Public Space Design: Working in Local Government as a Landscape Architect for the Taupō District Council.
-
International Execution: Managing the design and construction of private luxury gardens in Dubai for a New Zealand-owned company.
-
Commercial & Residential Infrastructure: Designing large-scale developments across Australia with Context Landscape Architecture in Sydney.
-
National Architectural Collaboration: Collaborating on high-end design projects nationwide with the renowned Warren & Mahoney Architects.
-
Bespoke Residential Spatial Design: Gaining valuable local residential design insight working alongside television designer Tony Murrell (Kiwi Living).
In 2010, Ginny officially became a Registered Landscape Architect with the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA). For the past 14 years, she has specialized in creating beautiful residential gardens, luxury pool surrounds, and sweeping lifestyle block masterplans throughout Cambridge, Hamilton, Waipa, and the wider Waikato region.
